Judaism is a joyous, loving, and enlightened religion, combining ancient wisdom and modern reasoning, so it is no surprise that you are interested in joining the Jewish people. It is a wonderful and exciting time in your life. Becoming Jewish is not an easy process, and requires a significant commitment of time, learning, and self-exploration. It can take more than a year to complete the conversion process in some cases.
The Jewish people do not proselytize, and we believe that God has assigned each of the peoples of the world a particular lot, hence why there are so many religions and so many different ways to worship the Creator. However, we are instructed no fewer than 36 times in the Torah to welcome the Convert who chooses Judaism. Converts to Judaism are often referred to as “Jews by Choice.”
The first step in your process of conversion is to
contact Rabbi Farb and set up an appointment to get to know the Rabbi and discuss your interest in Judaism.
We are a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, warm and welcoming community in deep South Texas. We embrace our cultural differences, even within our faith, as we join together to celebrate, mourn, study, and worship together.
